Could be, I thought the same thing. But, I doubt it. This behavior isn't in line with the 'classic' talk show radio cliff hangers. There's too much BS that HR is having a field day with right now, surely performing damage control.
But, atleast you got to call everyone 'retarded' and 'stupid' for not conforming to your way of thinking. Congratulations! With that and a couple bucks you can get a cup of coffee.

Did you hear the show at all? Are you a regular listener? I heard it live, it is obvious as the nose on Howard's face this was not a bit, not scripted and not meant to happen.
It's also obvious to me, that you aren't a fan, then why are you here posting? I'm so over non-fans like you, complaining about how the show sucks, how Howard isn't famous, how he's a "non-entity". Then get over yourself you "moron" as you call all of us, and find something better to do with your time and your life than posting on a FAN WEBSITE.

You don't know what your talking about. I doubt you're a regular listener or that you know much about the show at all. I might disagree with other peoples opinions, but I wouldn't call other people names for it like that, you'll just get the same right back. I suggest you piss off.

Howard doesn't need a cliff-hanger. Everyone who normally listens to the show will listen to all the special programming during this coming week and keep right on listening when the show comes back on live the next week.
Think about it "retared" if this was a set-up why didn't they play it over and over like all the other shows? Wouldn't that seem kind of strange to you that they would go through all this trouble to write a script and then only play it once?
If you are a regular listener you would know that there is no script. Just about everything that happens on the show is off the cuff.

I really hope that Artie does not come back. He's not very funny. When he sleeps during the shows it demonstrates how much he doesn't care about the show. He's rude to the guest. He’s rude to the staff. And he's rude to Howard. I'm sure Howard can do a lot better than Artie. Artie is not the main part of the show. It's the Howard Stern Show everyone else is just filler.
Congratulations on catching a typo. It must make you feel very, very important.
You have, of course, exposed your ignorance by saying "just about everything that happens on the show is off the cuff" or that "there is no script."
It's about as off-the-cuff as Fibber McGee and Molly. It is, however, funnier. But get a grip, and don't get wrapped in the lives of characters mouthing lines in a script. Sure, people step out of character. But most of it is contrived for your entertainment.

I'm kind of in this camp as well... I think that it aligns too perfectly to be "real"
However, if it is a joke.... Artie deserves an oscar, seriously. His voice was trembling, and you could hear him seethe with emotion when he spoke. It very may well be a bit... but fuck, it was an AWESOME BIT!

On the wrap-up show, Gary swore on the lives of his children that it was NOT a bit. That's proof enough for me that it was legit.

Yep, Gary swearing on the life of his children is serious business. No way this is a bit. On the other hand, this is the same guy who, according to almost everyone, is being irresponsible as a father by going to the Middle East. Good thing the trip is probably canceled.

Did you hear the show, or do you just think it sounds like something Howard would do? I guess when you see that Artie isn't coming back, you'll be a believer. Geez, if Howard's rivals Opie and Anthony say that it's real, I think it probably is.
By the way, my parents named me Baby Becky. It's on my birth certificate.
Um, no, numb-brain, suggesting that phony bits are not reality doesn't mean I have any opinion whatsoever on Opie and Anthony. And if a character doesn't come back, all it means is that he is not coming back -- it doesn't prove that the bit is reality. People leave radio programs all the time, gigs are not forever. IF he decided to move on, then they've found a pretty good bit to tie it together. But nobody is giving up a big-time morning radio job over a dispute with a flunky.
