I heard that Howard 100 News wasn't acknowledging much about the Artie situation afterwards. I guess they got the talk from Howard to ignore it like everyone else. Do you think they will give us any information tomorrow or Tuesday after the guys get back from Amsterdam? I don't know if I can stand going a whole week without knowing how Artie's doing.

The news department is not a news department if they aren't allowed to cover what really is news. Instead they are forced to cover things no one is interested in.

Unfortunately, I think all we're going to get is a token report during a commercial break while they're playing some lame show from 1982 that no one will be listening to. There will be several "no comments" or "i don't knows", and the report will just raise more questions then it will provide answers. I don't take the news department too seriously. I mean, it was Lisa G's job to go in the bathroom and smell Sal's deuce. If they had any cred, they would be demanding that Thursdays show be replayed, but Howard squashed that to protect our innocent ears. I think sometime in the middle of next week there will be some short, recorded statement by Howard that will give just enough to stall us for another week....I hope I'm wrong though....

Here's what bothers me about the whole thing...

Howard is so 'pro' freedom of speech when it benefits him and accuses the government of censorship, blah blah blah. Yet, Howard also uses censorship when it benefits him. Totally hypocritical.

Should this have even been discussed on the air? No, of course not. But that's how Howard has built his career. Nothing is sacred. People are to allow him to expose every personal detail about their lives and deal with it...and, the minute someone like Artie flips out because it's hit a nerve...Stern backs off and starts pointing fingers. Howard has to be retarded to not have realized how upset Artie was getting during the conversation, when Artie says he 'hates' someone, you know he's about to hop over the table and fight. Stern just kept egging it on...even taking Teddy's side at some points just to irk Artie's temper more.

People PAY for Sirius Radio. That's another thing...he expects loyalty FROM his fans, but doesn't show loyalty TO his fans. It was already broadcast, because of HIM, now, in hindsight they're going to pull it? BS.

Don't expect much from the Howard 100 Newsroom. They're just a bunch of Stern puppets, not true journalists. Lisa G is a train wreck who always has her facts wrong, and Steve Langford's claim to fame was working on the Hard Copy gossip show. Their job it to get the dirt on everyone else, unless Howie says not to.

I think there just wasn't time to review the entire incident and then decide what to do with it. They were all on their way out the door for vacation. I'm sure no one wanted to change their plans so they could hang around and discuss Artie. I think it's best to not do a replay until everyone is back and has a chance to review what actually happened. Plus....if Artie actually hit Teddy with something there could be legal ramifications to deal with. I doubt that Teddy will sue Artie but he probably could if he wanted to. Also....Sirius might have to fire Artie even if Teddy does not sue. They now have 2 instances where Artie has thrown things at other employees and even at a fun company like Sirius that could be a big liability for the company.

p.s. sounds like the boys had a great time in Amsterdam ;-))

Well, the HSS is on vacation this week...that doesn't mean the whole staff is. It's very possible that most of the staff is still working, though Howard, Robin, Fred, Artie, Benjy and others are off.

I'm pretty sure the Howard 100 News (cough) crew is still working. Honestly, this has to be a slap in the face to them, not being allowed to cover this story. How can Howard sell them as a 'News Team', when all they are allowed to do is announce pre-approved gossip stories?

Howard is not going to let the news dept get the scoop before he can have his audience hear it from him. Part of wanting you to come back for more. As much as he denied Artie's claim that he's wanting this fight for the air, its true he is not going to let anyone break the Artie result before him.
