It's almost like they interupt their year long vacations now with sporadic two week clumps of show. In a way I'm getting anxious for the next few years to be over with to put an end to being strung along. I mean he threatens at least once a week about how he's not coming back after his contract is up on the few shows he does do lately. Not the best way to lock in a legacy guys.
ps-Please bring Gary and John back for the friday show so there is at least some up to date content...I've reached my lifetime limit for Sam Kinnison clips I can listen to. My bad, forgot it's "not in the budget" ....

I still like the show but I too am getting pretty tired of Howard. Now that he's a rich asshole he's starting to act just like all of the people he so despised over the years and it's getting harder for him to pretend that he's one of us without revealing what a hypocrite he has become. By the time his contract is up there won't be anyone willing to come on his show except for the hookers and whack packers who only come because they're not smart enough to know that he despises them and is only using them.. I think he's one wave shy of jumping the shark. Listening on Fridays only highlights how much he has changed since he got rich and lazy. The current shows are not creative and have little content beyond talking about the t.v. shows he watches. I also think he's forgotten that most of his audience are people who work hard (8-12) hour days, sometimes 2 jobs and in some cases still struggle to pay the bills. As one of these people I'm really tired of hearing about how hard their jobs are......and how difficult it is for them to start work at 6:00 a.m. then work until 11 or 12 before heading back to their pampered lives. The other day, Howard didn't even have a clue how much a gallon of gas cost. He's too rich for us common folks and it's really showing. Now that I think of it.....he may have already jumped the shark !!!

You're being unrealistic to expect Howard to be the same escapee from the family running to the locked porn room of his married days when he was only a millionaire. You probaby didn't know then that he wasn't wasn't Mr. Everyman. He did a good job of hiding his true life and complained instead of his wife's knees hurting her and his brother-in-law bothering him. We all loved it.
It's lonely at the top and he's now almost a billionaire and he really has nothing to relate to or talk about without talking about a charmed life.
O.K., so you've discovered that he has no one to play off against except a dreary crew of misfits. The difference between then and now? Terrestial radio had him connected with the world at large instead of where his audience is hand-picked, where only those willing to invest in a new radio and a monthly payout could participate. Remember how funny and compelling Ian, the Drunk was?
This whole spoof of Beth/wedding/marriage will bust apart when she no longer serves his purpose. Howard is Mr. Schtick. He'll do anything for a bit and, sorry Beth, but you've been partly schtick! She is Howard's Christie Brinkley and as Beth's shelf life diminishes, she will be replaced by newer merchandise.
