Howard mentioned on Monday's show that Mary McCormack was upset that he left her play during intermission.
Now, he claims this was due to his early morning work schedule. But, he knew this before he went. Couldn't he have taken a nap earlier in the day? Couldn't he suffer through one 'tired' day? If he KNEW he had to get up early, why did he bother going?
I just can't help but think it didn't look good. Mary obviously anticipated him staying for the entire play, and was more than likely thrown off when she realized he had left. Publicity-wise, it sends a message that the play wasn't 'entertaining' enough to merit his presence for the whole show.
Personally, while I understand his schedule, I think it was rude. He played it off like he was a bit surprised, but come on...he knows damn well it's rude.
He should have just politely explained to her that he couldn't be out that late on a work night and not go...or, man up and deal with one night on light sleep.
I'm sure if people left the screening of Private Parts halfway through, he'd have had a nervous breakdown over it.
