My first thought when I heard Neil Patrick Harris was going to be on the show was how recently homophobic-sounding Artie Lange was going to be.
I wasn't prepared for Artie to lay it on so thick talking about how accepting he'd be of his hypothetical gay child even though he "jokes" about stuff, but he understands that the kid will have to deal with people like his close friends who have real issues with homosexuality.
Ok, so Artie wishing AIDS on High Pitch Mike and calling Teddy a "faggot" is joking? And it's Artie's friends who have the problem with gay people? Right.
I guess this is Artie going into overdrive trying to make up for screwing up the cupcake contributions to Gary's charity, George Takei's PSA, not to mention Artie's use of the word "faggot" which has been all over the news.
Don't get me wrong. I'm glad Artie's back and everything is hunky-dory. I just wish he'd be a little accountable for his actions.
