I know a lot of people think Sal Governale and Richard Christy are hacks and that this new era of the Howard Stern Show sucks, but I have to disagree. Anytime those two are on the air, I think it's hilarious! I guess I just like to laugh at really stupid people. Yesterday, it was Richard talking about barfing on a plane. Today it was Sal the Stockbroker playing that ultra-racist bit about the black Lt. Governor of New York David Paterson and talking about how Barak Obama may do pro-black things like pardon OJ Simpson. The best comedy is that which is real and not forced!

I agree, Becky, but I think Sal is smart enough to figure out that being dumb gets him airtime. So although there are moments of genuine retardation (pardoning OJ, inferring that Michelle Obama isn't American because she's black), I think Sal is sleazy enough just to say stupid, racist shit just to get attention.

Sal does know that acting stupid gets him on the air. When Artie ridiculed him for the gay stuff, Sal replied that he's just giving Howard what he wants. I think it's the same thing with being stupid. He probably plays this card more than we are aware of, too. I think that Baba Booey filters it out. BUT, he really is dumb to a certain extent . Some of the stuff can't be made up.

I agree completely, but maybe because I totally love Sal and that makes me biased. He's stupid, but he's not that stupid.
