They played an interesting Howard 100 News snippet today of Robin Quivers being interviewed by Barbara Walters on her Sirius Channel. Barbara asked Robin if she's thinking about marrying Jim Florentine, and Robin reacted very excitedly by asking why she would jump into marriage all of a sudden. She asked Barbara a couple of times in her agitated, shrieky voice, "Why would you say that?" Barbara very calmly and matter-of-factly explained that Robin likes Jim and they aren't living together so why not.
Later Lisa G interviewed Barbara and Robin separately. Barbara said that she didn't know that the question was so terrible, and her co-host said that it's obviously a sore spot for Robin who jumped out of her chair when Barbara asked it. Barbara said that most people would have just said, "I don't know" or something to that effect.
Robin basically said to that she's surprised Barbara Walters went there. She wondered why people have to talk marriage when she "just started dating" Jim.
Robin has some real issues with marriage. Yeah, most people would have just explained that it's early on in the relationship and who knows what might happen. Robin takes offense that anyone would suggest marriage might be in her future. Whew. She needs to go back to therapy. She obviously didn't get cured of all that ails her.

Robin has extreme trust issues. I'm not saying more therapy wouldn't help, but therapy probably won't ever totally eradicate the issues she has.
As long as she is able to live what she considers a happy and productive life, she'll probably be content with where she's at and who she is. She obviously doesn't 'need' to be married.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber.
I don't think Robin is involved with anybody, Jim Florentine notwithstanding. She's a scary woman. By that, I mean there's a lot of Star Jones in her.
I'm well aware of that screech mode she goes into, sort of a hysterical state covered usually with laughter.

Maybe Robin just doesn't find marriage necessary. From things she's said I can relate to her position on the matter. It gets insulting when people ask that question...for self-reliant, independent women it feels like an implication that a woman isn't complete without being married. Also, it's a personal question! In our society people think everyone is just dying to get married and have kids. Robin doesn't need to be married, she's created a complete life for herself.
