I can't wrap my hands around the fact that Sirius keeps multiple full-time people on the payroll in the Howard 100 News Department. They interview people like the president of the chess club that Howard went to over the weekend and take tips from callers who see Robin out with Jim Florentine at the movies. It wouldn't be so bad if they were actually allowed to report on Howard Stern news, but that seems to have dropped off since Howard got mad at Lisa G for calling a jewelry store to see how much he spent on jewelry for Beth O. Even when Lisa G said she called that chess club guy, Howard got really annoyed and told her not to bother him. The news department was novel at the start, but now it's so not necessary especially since Sirius supposedly doesn't have budget to do more important things.

On the Wrap-Up Show today, Gary said that the news department is an integral part of the show (but they shouldn't be in the studio after hours.) I don't really see how the new department is essential. Frankly, I cringe when Lisa G comes on the air.

I love the days when Howard can't get to her...like three days in a row last week. That just shows that the news department can't be that important.

Howard didn't have time to get to her from Tuesday-Thursday of last week. Yeah, you didn't miss her, did you?
