I'm getting a little tired of Howard Stern stopping himself from revealing certain things on the air. Today, he was ready to explain why he couldn't keep Bianca while Beth was away, but he stopped himself and said that it was personal. He hasn't said why Beth is in Los Angeles, and the only thing we heard about what he did on vacation last week was that he had to talk to Don Buchwald about an upsetting personal matter. Oh also, he brought up how he was on a conference call with Beth in Los Angeles about some sort of business when Ralph interrupted.
Yeah, I know. I should get a life, but the best parts of the show are when personal things are revealed. It's what's has been most irritating about the Robin Quivers / Jim Florentine relationship. Robin doesn't want to say anything about it. Howard used to say a lot more than he does now, but it's especially annoying when he's about to say something but decides not to.

I would imagine it's got to be really tough to be in the spotlight all the time. Some things need to be personal, just to stay sane.
If I were a celebrity, I wouldn't want all my personal information regarding my wife, kids, family, close friends, etc. being exposed. It's not fair to them or me.
Some of the stuff Howard gets into is business related and he shouldn't discuss on the air. Other stuff is probably personal, and I think we all know how much his loose lips helped sink his marriage to Allison.
He probably is getting a little older and wiser and doesn't want to make the same mistakes again...especially since he's more of a public figure than he used to be.
I've loved Howard for a lot of years, but now I'm tired of the secrecy and deception. He was always proud of himself about "being honest" especially on the air, but now it's more what he doesn't tell you. He sits and says how much of a simple guy he is, not pretentious, just like one of us, then doesn't mention the fact that he bought a 20 million dollar lot in the Hamptons and is building an enormous compound. He also bought another 11 million dollar floor in his building in NY and now has a huge apartment. Even the little things: He says "see you Monday" amd then Monday oops! He's actually on vacation for a week!
He never mentions that when Siriius hit a set subscriber level (which it did 2 months after he started) he got a block of stock worth $200 million dollars. And just so you know how little faith he had in the stock he IMMEDIATELY sold it. It's public record, go take a look. Not much faith in Sirius there Howard.
And this crap with Artie- Howard provokes people to argue on the air, then feels "terrible" when it escalates. Such crap.
I sorta hope he walks away in two years, and I can save myself $13 a month.
I can't say I ever loved Howard but I've been mightily entertained by him over many years but I always was aware that his humor always involved the putting down of others and he'd throw in a few self-deprecating remarks to show he was not judging himself better than those he ridiculed.
The fact is he was earning huge money when he was at his peak. Remember when he wouldn't reveal his worth when he ran for governor?
His show, when it involved Alison and the families from both sides of the marriage was interesting because we could all identify with parents, in-laws and spouses.
When he dumped the wife that gave him all that material and hooked up with a bim and his true financial worth became known, all of a sudden there was nothing to really listen to except a staff whose job it was to daily suck his butt hole.
He's the best there is in radio, I'm not trying to detract from that fact but now we all know who's the real guy is behind the curtain in Oz.
Alas, things change in life and what was a wonderful period is over and rather than bemoan the fact, better accept it now and allow some other thing to fill the void because, like it or not, eventually, he will leave Sirius and you'll all be stuck with a machine that you can use as a doorstop.
Any decent man would fire Arty but, no, Howard keeps him on, a very seriously mentally and physically sick man and uses his illness as a pawn for the program as he watches him deteriorate on the air. Everything is shtick to Howard even a dying man. It's painful to hear and watch, seeing a man's dignity being eroded but his humiliation is all grist for Howard's humor mill.
I'm writing to EddieZ. Howard is successful because he has a tight rein on his empire. He will talk about whatever he wants to talk about and he doesn't do anything that isn't calculated.
Call me pisher if you want to but I'd say he's negotiating on how to get out of this quagmire he's got himself into with Bethy Wethy, that eternal high school girl who nailed the football champ (Howard).
Can you imagine a lifetime listening to her conversation? On top of which she's weird-looking. At first glance, she looks like a winner but, as you examine her features including her body and legs, they are not prime model quality but are all off a bit and in the world of successful men, only the cream of the crop are purchased.
Around him, Howard sees other men, lesser lights, purchasing hotter babes and that's what Howard is all about. Hasn't he made a career out of critiquing and judging women's bodies and faces? Why should he settle for someone he met right after his divorce?
I'd say the sands are shifting in their lives. She's away. The dog has become a problem. He's consulting with someone who we don't really know who it is. I'd take a wild guess and say it's an attorney.
What may have brought their relationship to a head is that Beth is seeing that he's just leading her on and has no interest in marriage with her and certainly does not want the complications of babies at his time of life. After all, he's worked hard to get himself into the position he's in now. He doesn't need to go through the baby raising period again.
Apart from having babies, what kind of a companion is Beth on a 24/7 basis till the end of endless time - or what will come to seem like it.
