Why is it that Fred Norris was the only one today saying that Artie Lange needs help? Everyone else, including Robin who seemed so pissed last week on her publicity tour, just laughed and laughed today about the whole thing. Fred had the intelligence to tell Artie that he needs to get help because what happened was really messed up. Everyone else is back to giving Artie positive reinforcement for his screw-ups. Granted this whole thing was a great advertisement for the show, but is the cost of a human being worth a laugh on the show?

Because it was a bit for the show. Fred just played his part a little better today.

In my opinion, Fred has always been a friend to Artie on the show. Fred will always defend Artie when Artie has an argument. Regardless of how out of hand Artie gets, Fred always reminds people how the feuds started...and rarely is it actually Artie's doing.
The thing about Artie is...people start shit with him, but he overreacts so everyone soon forgets it was the OTHER guy that started the fight. People focus on Artie's inappropriate reaction to people being assholes.
The Teddy thing is the only time I remember Fred saying flat out that Artie was out of line...and that, to me, was a friend telling a friend 'You fucked up, man'.
Artie does need help and I hope he listens to Fred. It's only a matter of time before Artie gets in his comfort zone and starts fucking up again. He brags that he didn't do smack in Amsterdam, but he was still overeating, drinking and smoking weed...lol...an addict can't substitute one addiction for the other, it's always going to get you.
