Am I supposed to be into this Adam Durtiz of Counting Crows interview? Yeah, they have a couple of good songs from 10 years ago, but what have they done recently besides this new album? I don't care about this lead singer dude who tells Howard Stern that he hasn't screwed any of the people on Howard's list. And he says that he hallucinates. Big fucking deal. I'd rather hear Bigfoot talking crazy than this monotonous schlub. God, last week's run of good guests was definitely a fluke. Let's hope the merger draws in better guests.

I agree. It would have been a very interesting interview 15 years ago...but, not now. He had one hit album, and it is/was a great album...and he had a couple of semi-hit songs since then. Nothing of the caliber 'August and Everything After' was.

As much as the subscription numbers have risen, I still believe that satellite radio is not the 'marketing' tool that terrestrial radio used to be and celebrities are aware of this. Hence, the B, C and D list guests that Stern is trying to pawn off on us as entertainment.

To top it off, Stern seems satisfied churning out mediocrity. He's hit pay dirt, he's rich, he's got a model girlfriend...he's just not hungry anymore.

The angst is gone...and forced at best.

Jeeze, lay off adam duritz. people have this hate him syndrome for no reason other than jealousy.

counting crows have had numerous hits since august including long december accidentally in love and american girls. They have gotten an oscar nomination and have performed at many big events. August sold 7 million copies, the other albums 13 million.

August was so good, that it is impossible to match something like that. Butthey say that you have your whole life to write your first album and six months to write the follow up.

How many albums have you sold mr. critic?

They just released a new album and that is why he was on the show. Stern likes their music.

lol...if that's your taste, more power to you. Obviously you're in the minority though.

August was a hit ALBUM...they did not have another hit album. Oscar nomination...so what? Madonna is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that doesn't make her a rocker.

How many albums I've sold or not sold doesn't make me any less talented than Adam Duritz. Do you think all of the world's talented musicians get record deals? That's a very infantile understanding of the music business.

Stern having them on the show to plug the release of their new album is nothing less than a favor. Stern hasn't exactly been able to book any A-list celebrities lately.

I don't hate Adam Duritz, at all. I'm certainly not jealous of him. I can name off a hundred artists that I may be jealous of...the Counting Crows don't even make a blip on the radar! lol With that said, I really enjoyed the August album, and I expected more greatness...didn't happen. Oh well...his problem, not mine.

Yes, it's better to be a 'has been' than a 'never was', so he's got me there. But, fact of the matter is, he's still a has been. He had one great album, which he had all the time in the world to write...and he's not been able to match that magic even remotely since.

LOL. ROFL!

Wow.

LOL!

you are so full of yourself it is laughable.

You must really think that you are a king/queen to be able to label people as has beens. This comes after the fact you say that someone has an infantile understanding of the music business. Wow. Risible.

The CC have generated good albums and songs over the years. They may not have sold as much as the first one or be "a great album" as rated by a "never was" as you so correctly call yourself. Still, they have a solid fan base and people, as I was, were glad to hear them perform and talk.

Sounds like someone has a case of envy. What, poor little baby never get his/her band off the ground? Still taking the stage on open mic night dreaming about what could have been?

LOL

ROFL!

The angst is gone, indeed! I know you meant that statement for Howard, but I felt it about Adam Duritz during the interview. I wish he would have rattled off his list of medications, because he was way too happy. I tuned in somewhere in the middle of the interview and thought they were talking to Benjy...but it turned out to be Adam Duritz. I couldn't believe it.

I'm just glad he stayed off the meds long enough to churn out August and Everything After. That was a masterpiece, and they'll never top it. I hate to say it, but he should go back to writing happy-sappy songs for the Shrek movies. He's done.

I believe the only reason the Counting Crows were even on the Howard Stern show is because Howard and Adam are friends. They are nowhere near the level of popularity they were in the mid 90's and to be totally honest I did not even know they were still around. But then again with Howard booking alot of B and C level stars I guess it not to far out of the real to have the Counting Crows on.

I wonder how much longer till John Stamos is booked on the Show.....hahaha.
