Artie Lange has mentioned before how he feels indifferent about what his housekeeper sees around his apartment because she's Mexican. Today he talked about clogging up toilets in hotels, and that if the maintenance guy is Mexican, he doesn't get embarrassed that the guy has to take care of it. Is Artie normal in his attitude toward Mexicans (really, people that he feels are lower than him, in general) and just more honest than most people in admitting it?
When you really think about the attitude, it's quite shocking. Here's a guy who feels it's ok that a Mexican person unclog his dirty toilet, but if a white guy has to do it, he feels bad about it. Artie should take pity on any guy who has work in his shitty toilet. I guess Artie feels that he's doing Mexicans a favor by providing them with a job in this country. Geez.

I think what he meant by it is that a Mexican or any other immigrant is probably more used to performing those types of job tasks in America than a typical white guy.
I don't really view that as racist...just a generalized statement based statistically on probability.
There's exceptions to every rule, absolutely. But, if you were to take a census on how many Mexicans vs. American born white people have had jobs in America that entailed plunging a toilet, the Mexican population would overwhelmingly exceed the white population.
BTW...I'm a white guy, and yes...as a kid I had to plunge toilets at a restaurant I worked at. In fact, I was forced to clean up after an old man had an extreme 'accident' all over the rest room walls and floor. So, it's not that white people don't do it, just less than any immigrant who's willing to do any job to establish a work history in America.
The attitude Artie uses to express this stuff really goes back to the fact that he's a comedian. He's supposed to make outlandish statements for shock and comedy value. Part of the humor is the hypocrisy of what he's saying.
Even black comedians base 30% of their stand-up making fun of white people. When a black man does it, it's comedy...when a white man does it, he's a racist. Double standard, imo.

I agree, I don't find this offensive at all. Yeah, I'm a white guy too, but just like prs_fiend said, Artie's a comedian. This is the kind of thing you would expect him to say if you listen to the Stern show. If someone is offended by that, they shouldn't listen to the show anyway...
