I used to like Artie but that is changing with each passing day. As he gets fatter and more depressed he also gets meaner. He needs to do something to help himself. What an asshole he is becoming !!!

Yep, I agree. He used to be the best part of the show. Now he's just a pathetic lump of crap. He's lost respect for the job which is the most annoying part, and Howard lets him get away with everything.

Howard seems to be intimidated by Artie but I think Artie is starting to annoy Robin and Gary quite a bit. Even George is pissed at him, and I think it takes a whole lot to get George pissed. I watched the Katie Lee Joel episode on Howard T.V. and you could tell that George was appalled as he watched Artie consume those cookies like some drugged out homeless person who hadn't eaten in a long time. Maybe there's still hope for Artie ....I guess time will tell.

Funny, I never thought of Howard being "intimidated" by Artie, but maybe that's exactly what's going on. I just thought he didn't want to deal with it so he just let everything slide, but maybe it is intimidation.
I didn't see the Howard TV episode, but I can imagine George being sickened by Artie gorging himself. It's a strange situation that no one really tells Artie how they feel. It's almost like people walk on eggshells around him. I guess it's that nice-guy attitude he has. Clearly, people like High Pitch Mike and Sal and Richard have had the balls to say what no one else has.

It's amazing how the role of the guy in that chair has changed so dramatically. Howard and the main crew used to openly loathe Jackie Martling, and now they treat Artie like he's this Golden Boy. Cutting and witty remarks are worth more than substance in that room, I guess.
